Solang Pine Lodge is fourteen log cabins and a main lodge on the road to Solang, at about 2,500 metres, with deodar forest on three sides and the snow line visible from the deck in winter.
Cabins sleep two to four, with a wood-burning stove, an electric blanket, a kettle, a small sitting area and a bathroom with a proper hot water system. There is no air conditioning and none is needed. The larger cabins have a loft that children tend to claim immediately.
Meals are served in the main lodge: a set breakfast, and a fixed dinner menu with one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian option, both included in most rates. The lodge arranges treks, ski hire in season and a jeep to Rohtang when the pass is open.
Winter is the busiest season and the access road can need a four-wheel drive after heavy snow; the lodge will meet you in Manali and drive you up. In June the same cabins are quieter and cheaper, and the walking is at its best.
Practical notes: check-in from 12:00, check-out by 11:00. Cancellation is strict here — free up to 168 hours before check-in, with a partial refund after that. Unmarried couples are welcome with valid ID. Pets are allowed on request. Local photo IDs are accepted at the desk. GST of 12% is added at checkout and shown as a separate line before you pay.

Beautiful property with well-kept grounds. Our room had a small balcony that made the stay. Only note is that the restaurant closes a little early.

Friendly staff and a genuinely comfortable room. It rained the whole weekend and the in-room dining saved us. Prices were reasonable too. The staff remembered our names by the second morning.
