Ganga View Ashram Stay is a sixteen-room guesthouse on the Tapovan side of Laxman Jhula, built on the slope so that most rooms look down the river. It is run on ashram lines: vegetarian food, no alcohol, and quiet after 22:00. Rooms are simple and clean at 150 to 190 square feet, with twin or double beds, a fan and a wall-mounted AC unit, a wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a geyser. The river-facing rooms on the first and second floors have small balconies and are the ones to book. A vegetarian breakfast is included and thali meals are served at fixed times. There is a yoga shala on the roof with a 06:30 class open to guests at no charge, and the desk arranges rafting, day treks and cabs to Haridwar. The evening aarti at Triveni Ghat is a twenty-minute drive. Practical notes: check-in from 14:00, check-out by 11:00. The property is on our flexible policy — cancel up to 24 hours before check-in and you pay nothing. The property does not accept unmarried couples. Pets are not allowed. Local photo IDs are accepted at the desk. GST of 12% is added at checkout and shown as a separate line before you pay.

Check-in was quick and the room was ready before time. The bed was genuinely comfortable and the AC worked well through a warm night. Would book again. One suggestion: put a second socket by the bed.

Location is the strongest point — everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Rooms are compact but very clean and the staff were helpful at every turn. The staff remembered our names by the second morning.

Beautiful property with well-kept grounds. Our room had a small balcony that made the stay. Only note is that the restaurant closes a little early. Everything worked, which is rarer than it should be.
